How do I get started?

Getting started is as easy giving us a call at 410-417-7451 or sending an email to admin@shifttogetherwellness.com and we will get you scheduled for brief consultation phone call or your initial session.

What Should I Expect in My First Session?

In your first session, you can expect to discuss what brought you to therapy and what you hope to achieve. This is an opportunity for you to see if your therapist is a good fit, and for you to ask any questions you may have about the therapeutic process. You'll also review some initial paperwork and begin to develop a plan for your work together. 

How long are therapy sessions and how often will we meet?

Therapy sessions are typically 50 minutes long. Most clients find it helpful to meet on a weekly basis, especially at the beginning of their work, to build momentum and consistency. However, you will discuss and agree upon a meeting frequency that best suits your needs and goals. 

How long will I need to be in therapy?

The length of therapy is highly individual and depends on your unique goals and what you hope to work on. Some people may find a few months of therapy to be sufficient, while others may prefer a longer-term approach. You and your therapist will regularly check in on your progress and re-evaluate your plan as needed. 

How will I know if therapy is working?

Therapy is working when you begin to notice small, positive shifts in your life. This could look like a greater sense of calm, improved relationships, or a better ability to manage challenging thoughts and emotions. You will collaborate with your therapist to set clear, measurable goals and check in on your progress throughout our time together. 

What is your cancellation policy?

We require 24 hours' notice for all cancellations. If you cancel with less than 24 hours' notice, you will be charged the full session fee. This policy helps us manage our time effectively and allows us to offer the appointment to another client who may be on our waiting list. 

Do you offer virtual/telehealth sessions?

Yes we do.  Our telehealth platform is HIPAA-compliant, ensuring your privacy and confidentiality. This option provides you with the flexibility to attend sessions from the comfort of your own home. 

Can I get a Good Faith Estimate?

Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. If you are self-pay or using out-of-network insurance, we will provide you with a clear, written estimate of your expected therapy costs before your first session, ensuring there are no unexpected bills down the line.
