Insurance:

In-Network

We strive to enhance therapy accessibility for as many individuals as possible. To support this goal, we are in-network with several insurance providers that offer behavioral health coverage, including Aetna, Anthem EAP, CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, Cigna, Kaiser Permanente of the Mid Atlantic, Maryland Medicaid, Oscar (Optum), Oxford, and United Healthcare. We also provide self-pay therapy options for those who prefer them, ensuring that everyone has access to the support they need, regardless of their insurance reimbursement situation.

Out-of-Network

Navigating insurance can be confusing, but our goal is to simplify the process for you. If we do not have a contract with your insurance company, we will be considered an out-of-network provider, which means you will be responsible for self pay therapy services directly. However, we can provide you with an itemized receipt, also known as a superbill, which includes all the necessary information about your sessions. You can then submit this superbill to your insurance company to seek potential insurance reimbursement. We recommend contacting your provider beforehand to understand your specific behavioral health coverage and out-of-network benefits.

Why Self Pay:

Paying for therapy directly, known as self-pay therapy, can offer significant advantages that extend beyond a mere transaction. This approach gives you the highest level of control over your care, ensuring that your treatment aligns with your individual needs and goals rather than being restricted by insurance limitations or behavioral health coverage. Additionally, self-pay therapy emphasizes your privacy, as there's no requirement to share any information about your diagnosis or treatment with a third party, which is often necessary for insurance reimbursement.

Privacy and Confidentiality: When you choose self-pay therapy, your diagnosis and treatment plan remain confidential and are not shared with a third party, ensuring a greater level of privacy and confidentiality than opting for behavioral health coverage that requires insurance reimbursement. Greater Flexibility: Self-pay therapy provides you the freedom to select your therapist based on your specific needs, rather than being confined to a limited network. Additionally, it grants you more control over how often and how long your therapy sessions last. No Diagnosis Required: While insurance reimbursement necessitates that a therapist provides a mental health diagnosis for therapy coverage, the self-pay option allows you to concentrate on personal growth, relationships, or other concerns without needing a formal diagnosis on your permanent health record.
